Lab and diagnostics software: from doctor's order to printed report
In Dhrunex, the lab never works from paper slips. Every test a doctor orders in a consultation appears in the lab technician's worklist automatically, moves through result entry with built-in reference ranges, and comes out the other side as a professional printed report, with the billing already queued at the front desk.
X-ray and scan orders run through their own radiology queue in the same way, tracked from order to report with their own billing, so diagnostics revenue never leaks between the order and the bill.
Capabilities
What's included
Worklist of ordered tests
Every test ordered by any doctor appears in the lab worklist automatically. Nothing travels on paper, so nothing gets lost between the consultation room and the lab bench.
Guided result entry
Reference ranges are built into each test. Abnormal values are flagged High, Low or Critical automatically as results are entered.
Printed lab report
A professional PDF report with specimen details, ready to hand to the patient or attach to the in-patient record.
Radiology and scan queue
X-ray and scan orders are tracked from order to report in their own queue, with their own billing line, so diagnostics never becomes an unbilled favour.
Your own test menu
Lab and radiology catalogs carry your test names and your prices, bulk-uploaded from a spreadsheet in one go.
Billing that follows the order
The moment a test is ordered it joins the billing queue. Processed orders stay on the bill, so a completed test can never quietly become a free service.
In-patient tests included
Tests ordered for admitted patients flow to the same worklist and bill to the admission, keeping IPD diagnostics inside the same system.
Workflow
A lab order in Dhrunex
- 01
The doctor orders
Tests and scans are ordered inside the consultation. Each order joins the lab or radiology worklist and the billing queue at the same moment.
- 02
The lab processes
The technician works down the worklist, entering results against built-in reference ranges; abnormal values are flagged automatically.
- 03
The report prints
A PDF report with specimen details is generated for the patient and stays on the patient's record.
- 04
The bill is already right
The test was on the bill from the moment it was ordered, so there is no reconciliation between the lab register and the cash counter at month end.
Common questions
How do test orders reach the lab?
Automatically. When a doctor orders a test inside a consultation, it appears in the lab worklist and the billing queue at the same time, so there are no paper requisition slips to carry or lose.
Are abnormal results flagged?
Yes. Each test carries its reference ranges, and entered values are flagged High, Low or Critical automatically before the report is printed.
Can we use our own test names and prices?
Yes. The lab and radiology catalogs are yours (test names, codes and prices), and both load from a spreadsheet bulk upload during onboarding.
One system, every department
Lab & diagnostics is one part of the Dhrunex hospital management platform. The same login and patient record connect it to the rest of the hospital.
