IPD and ward management, from admission to discharge
Dhrunex takes an in-patient stay from admission to discharge in one system: room and bed allocation, advances, nursing records, ward medicines, room-rate billing and the final discharge summary. The same platform runs your OPD, so a consultation that turns into an admission carries the patient's record with it: no re-entry, no second software.
Room charges follow your rate card automatically, every advance settles against the final bill, and the doctor follows their admitted patients from the same login they use for out-patients.
Capabilities
What's included
Admissions in minutes
Admit a patient to a specific room and bed with the advance collected up front. The admission is linked to the patient's existing record and consulting doctor.
Live ward and room view
Rooms, beds, capacity and occupancy in one live screen, so the front desk always knows what is free before promising a bed.
Room transfers that bill themselves
Move a patient between rooms and the billing follows the room rates automatically; an upgrade to a private room is charged correctly from the day of transfer.
Room rate card with GST
Daily rates per room type, defined once and applied to every bill by the system, with GST handled per your configuration.
Nurse station
Nurses record vitals and track admitted patients from their own login, keeping the clinical record current without touching billing screens.
Advances and deposits
Collect and top up advances during the stay; they settle against the final bill at discharge, with every payment receipted.
Ward medicines tracked and billed
Medicines issued from the pharmacy to an in-patient are recorded against the admission and appear on the bill automatically.
Discharge summary as PDF
A printed discharge summary is generated at discharge, alongside the final GST invoice and settlement of advances.
Workflow
An admission in Dhrunex, end to end
- 01
Admission
The patient is admitted to a chosen room and bed, an advance is collected, and the admitting doctor is assigned, all in a few minutes.
- 02
The stay
Nurses record vitals from the nurse station; the doctor reviews their admitted patients from their own login; ward medicines are issued from the pharmacy and billed to the admission.
- 03
Room changes
If the patient moves rooms, billing switches to the new room's daily rate automatically from the transfer date.
- 04
Discharge
Room charges, procedures, medicines and tests are already on the bill. Advances settle against it, the balance is paid by cash, card or UPI, and the GST invoice and discharge summary print as PDFs.
Common questions
Can we run OPD and IPD in the same system?
Yes, that is the point of Dhrunex. One platform and one login per staff member covers out-patient and in-patient work, so an OPD consultation that becomes an admission keeps the same patient record and billing history.
How are room charges calculated?
You define a rate card with a daily rate per room type. The system applies it to each day of the stay, switches rates automatically on a room transfer, and adds GST as configured.
How are advances handled?
Advances are collected at admission and can be topped up during the stay. Each one is receipted, and all of them settle against the final bill at discharge, so the patient pays only the balance.
One system, every department
IPD & ward management is one part of the Dhrunex hospital management platform. The same login and patient record connect it to the rest of the hospital.
